Each piece starts with a drawing which is used to create digital vector files. Each layer is then laser-cut from 1/8" birch plywood. After they're cut, I hand paint or color each layer before gluing them together to form a one-of-a-kind sculpture.

Part of the charm of these artworks is their small variations and imperfections. No one toy is completely alike, though some are more similar than others. In the past, these mini sculptures have just been a passion of mine. I love designer toys and have enjoyed making them for my own personal art practice, but I'm so glad to finally be sharing them with others.

I put lots of love and careful attention into each item. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy bringing it to you.

"Pick Me: I Desire to Teach"

Voertman's UNT CVAD Competition
I was honored to have my work selected for the annual juried Voertman Competition at CVAD while completing my undergraduate degreee. This piece was a reflection of my desire to become an art teacher. In addition to the sculptural element, there was also an audible component. Like a young child begging to be called on by a teacher, you could hear me calling out "pick me, oh oh, me me me, pick me!"
